Learn how each placement type works and how objects behave in augmented reality
On the Vizbl platform, every 3D object is assigned one of five placement types.
The placement type determines where the object can appear in AR and how it interacts with the environment.
‍
The five placement types are:
Below are descriptions and examples for each.
Objects can be placed on any horizontal surface — a table, shelf, counter — or directly on the floor.
They can also be positioned against walls or ceilings if needed.
Examples: vases, small lamps.
Objects can only be placed on the floor.
Examples: tables, chairs, cabinets.
Objects can only be placed on vertical surfaces.
Examples: paintings, mirrors.
Objects hang from the ceiling.
Examples: chandeliers, pendant lights.
Carpet-type objects attach to the floor surface and integrate into the environment using AI.
The system places them under existing objects — like chairs or planters — just like real flooring.
Examples: rugs, parquet, laminate.
